Rope Flow Basics and Cardinals
Best Feel Best Flow
It is hard to describe the perfect rope, it feels almost like weightless but so connected to your hands, it doesn't coil and looks good when going fast or slow

I’m fairly new to rope flow so when I heard about the winding ropes workshop I thought I’d give it a try.
The workshop was very generous in time so after going over the basics Pablo was able to give one on one coaching to all the participants which was great as we all had different skill levels from no experience at all to very skilled.
I also purchased a 12mm rope which felt really comfortable in my hands, not too heavy , a great weight to learn with.
If you’re interested in rope flow no matter what your skill level I highly recommend trying a workshop. It’s a great environment to learn new skills and you can try different ropes to see how they feel and see them in action, it’s such a great form of exercise, you’ll be hooked in no time !

Great collaborative effort between Flow st8 and Winding ropes, didn't disappoint. With a diverse mix of people from a variety of backgrounds including personal trainers, dancers, teachers and musicians, we found the Flow in ourselves then sustained it together.

Wow what a beautiful experience in such a safe and comforting learning space created by Pablo whom shared something very new to me but so relevant to us all for the Flow he guided us to learn was so meditative and healing.
I was able to feel parts of my body I hadn't felt before, as swinging the rope in different patterns involved full body connection and awareness in order to manipulate and guide the rope around my body without hitting me.
It was so fun, playful and healing doing so - unlocking understanding for how to mirror each sides of
My body in order to reflect the same movements and motions helping me learn which sides are more tense and tight and which parts are loose. I now know where to stretch more to rebalance my body's flow to be in state of more togetherness.
Pablo demonstrated all these movements so calmly, at slow tempos, breaking down the movements piece by piece in order for us to understand more. His calm voice helped me receive his guidance more receptively, which I appreciated a lot in oppose to the usual aggressive yelling gym instructors.
It was beautiful to see the different age groups and what one could see with their eyes to be different athleticism levels but, Pablo's guidance allowed us all to learn together incredibly it was as though we were all kids in the same class learning to skip but in this evolved version of FLOW where we are all enjoying it and actually progressing together.
When being lead by someone in a space where they…

I attended the May 2023 workshop with Pablo in Glen Iris.
It was a fun session. Started with the basics and pretty quickly found everyone's level, including some already pretty proficient people! Pablo taught each move then moved around to coach each person individually, making suggestions appropriate for what was needed to begin or to finesse. For me, arriving only able to dragon roll in one direction, I can now do the front to back twisting 180 continuous dragon roll. Yay!
I also learned some tips to refine matadors and transitions, how to conceive turns, and the forward to backward lunging matador, a good work out.
Great as well to see people of all levels - from beginners to amazing and way beyond where I am, and also tantalisingly a little better and seemingly achievable!
I bought a purple rope. I hadn’t flowed for more than 15 min before, so this was a workout for me, and I found my Octomoves rope a little more abrasive on my hands. The windingropes rope in comparison seems softer, marginally lighter and easier to use for a longer session.
It was a great session all up and I’m glad I went. Found some new energy and ideas to motivate me for the next while!
