Collection: Heavy Juggling Balls

Heavy, durable, and made to move. These juggling balls are not toys, they are training tools built for grip, shoulder control, and real progress.

Three weights, so the same skill can be loaded like any other lift: 300 g to learn on, 550 g for control, 800 g for power. Each ball has a textured, non-slip surface and comes with an organic cotton bag. Designed and made in Australia by Winding Ropes.

Why weighted juggling is real training, not a party trick

Juggling is one of the cleanest demonstrations of a working memory limit that exists. Peter Bier, a teaching fellow in engineering mathematics at the University of Auckland, opens lectures to 500 students by juggling three balls, then four, then five, to show them that the brain can only hold so many things at once. You feel your own ceiling the moment you add a ball.

Add weight to that and you get two demands at the same time: the coordination problem, and a genuine grip and shoulder load. A tossed 800 g ball also never quite arrives where you predicted, so your hand has to react rather than anticipate. That reactive quality is something a rope or a kettlebell cannot train, because both stay attached to you.

How to use them

  • Juggling: work from one to four balls to build timing and rhythm. Master every pattern at 300 g before you add weight.
  • Throwing: track distance or air time with each arm, match your sides, and improve weekly.
  • Contrast training: switch between 300 g, 550 g and 800 g for speed versus power sessions.
  • Flow and coordination: strong preparation for rope flow, mace and club work.

One safety note: learn new patterns over grass or a bed. Dropping an 800 g ball on a bare foot ends the session.
