Workshop Recap: Rope Flow at Carlton Gardens, Melbourne (November 2025)
Share
On a spring Saturday in November 2025 we set up on the lawns of Carlton Gardens, in front of the Royal Exhibition Building, for a Melbourne rope flow workshop. Ropes were provided, most of the group were complete beginners, and by the end everyone was swinging.

The session ran under the plane trees, each attendee with their own rope. Filmmaker pf35media was there capturing the day, and this short film is the best summary of the mood:

Everyone learns hands-on
Rope flow is simple to start: swing a weighted rope in patterns around your body, no jumping required. The workshop works through the basics one attendee at a time, adjusting grip and rhythm until the rope moves smoothly.

Why people come to rope flow
One attendee summed up his reason for being there: "I started rope flow about 12 months ago. I had a spinal fusion about 10 years ago. I was quite stiff and I saw rope flow and I thought that could be good." His story, and more reactions from the day, are in this short review film:
What attendees said
"The way I feel after the rope flow, like today we've been going for maybe two hours and my body's very alive and energized and excited."
"To anyone that hasn't tried the flow rope, you gotta do it. It's actually really fun and accessible. You can just leave this in your car and you can do it anytime."
"And it's quite addictive. You just need a rope. It's very accessible. You can do it anywhere."
