Starting Rope Flow With a History: What Our Customers Actually Say
Share
Some of the most striking messages we get are from people starting again: after an injury, after years away from training, after something bigger. Their words below, unedited, plus the honest answer we give everyone who asks.
In their words
"I just discovered flow rope..and I had a stroke 2 years ago but not bad looking forward to flow rope journey...any advice to choosing right rope"
Stephen, customer question to the store
"These blocks have taken me from 10 years off running to running pain free - simple, effective and just a great product!"
Simon Carey, verified buyer, The Slant Block
"Rope flow cured my injured wrist and since then it has been part of my life."
Jeff Wong, verified buyer, Black Panther 24mm
"When first I tried to dance the wild moves I am used to with my main rope (550 grams), next day I had some overall bodypain. Now I slow down with the heavy rope."
Michaela Apel, verified buyer, Ghost Shark 18mm
"I am able to go fast and slow without injury or trouble whatsoever. Also been teaching rope flow to others."
Thor Wigan Marold, verified buyer, Baby Shark 850g
"great rope that is giving me serious help in regaining my fluidity in training. Great product and love the weight and feel of the Red Wolf. If you are intersted in taking your fitness culture to the next level of suppleness and fluidity of movement, you have got to get a rope from Winding Ropes."
Luther P., verified buyer, 16mm Red Wolf 650g
At a workshop, filmed by pf35media, two customers said it better than we could. One of them: "I started rope flow about 12 months ago. I had a spinal fusion about 10 years ago. I was quite stiff and I saw rope flow and I thought that could be good." His words, his story, on camera:
What we tell everyone who writes to us like Stephen did
First: we are honoured you are considering a rope for that chapter, and we will not pretend a rope is a treatment. Whatever you are coming back from, the person who manages your recovery makes the call on what movement is right, and when. Bring rope flow to them as a question, not a decision.
Second, what the practice offers a comeback, in plain terms: it is low-impact, it is done standing with both feet on the ground, the load is chosen by choosing the rope, and it can be as gentle as slowly tracing a Figure 8 with 140 grams. Michaela's review above is the whole method in two sentences: when the body complains, slow down and go lighter. The rope does not mind. Luther's word for the same thing is "fluidity", regained rather than found for the first time, which is its own kind of comeback.
Where to start if you are coming back
- Red Pocket 140g: the gentlest rope we make. This is the one we point every comeback story at first.
- The first eight movements, free, in order, no equipment assumptions.
- Ten relaxed minutes beats one heroic session. Muscle tiredness is normal; sharp pain means stop and ask your clinician.

About these reviews. Every quote on this page is reproduced word for word from a verified customer review or a message a customer sent us, including anything a reviewer says about their own injury or recovery. Jeff's "cured my injured wrist" and Simon's "running pain free" are their claims about their own bodies. Those are their words and their individual experiences. They are not claims by Winding Ropes, they are not medical advice, and they are not evidence that rope flow or any of our products will do the same for you or for anyone else. Individual results vary and most people will not have the same experience. We make movement tools, not medical devices. If you are managing an injury or a diagnosis, the professional who knows your history should be the one deciding what movement is appropriate, and when.
